Drift Palm Springs // Mother's Day in the Desert

It's no secret that some (ahem, most...) of Palm Springs' most desirable boutique hotels have a strict no-kids policy. While I love heading to Korakia Pensione or Sands Hotel & Spa (and have been many times!), this year I wanted to spend Mother's Day in the desert at a hotel that hit a few buckets:
Kid-friendly. Specifically toddler-friendly, which is a category in and of itself.
High design. The more tile, calming color schemes and unexpected elements, the better.
Food-focused. Mom's not providing snacks or cooking on Mother's Day weekend. Period.
Drift Palm Springs checked all the boxes and then some. I had the chance to stay for two nights through my agency's trade program (thank you, bread & Butter!) and it was the perfect place to relax and soak in the sun.

The pool is the crown jewel of the property. The yellow umbrellas, the slight pop of tile, and a mix of individual and two-person cabana seating made it feel spacious but social.

And - of course - the cocktails + mocktails from Maleza, the on-site rustic Mexican restaurant were flowing all day. I had to stop Mila from ordering another round of guac, she was addicted.

The rooms had a Cabo-inspired vibe - clean lines, a well-stocked fridge (wine, soft drinks, juice and everyone's favorite - POPPI soft drinks) and curated snacks. We stayed in the two bedroom suite featuring two king beds, en suite bathrooms and a full kitchen, which is BEYOND appreciated when you have a toddler who requires a full lineup of snacks + drinks all day.

I loved that the hotel is pretty self-sufficient; you check-in in advance via text, your key is a door code that's texted to you (ahh, the beauty of NOT losing keys or having them de-activate every time you pop it in your purse...), and the staff is friendly and helpful when you run into them on propriety.

The design details did not dissapoint. Every corner felt like an intentionally designed sun-soaked paradise. And best of all, the property is located in the BEST LOCATION in Palm Springs, downtown in walking distance to my favorite restaurant Rooster and the Pig, shopping, dining and all the bars you want to go to.
Book your stay at Drift Palm Springs. The sunshine will do you good.
